The SNOMED CT National Centre in Spain publishes a new updated version of the Catalan extension

SNOMED International is the non-profit organisation that administers and develops SNOMED CT, the world’s most comprehensive clinical terminology. This week, the SNOMED CT National Centre in Spainhas published the annual update of the Catalan extension of its standard. Please use the following download form to view it.

The following milestones are among the new aspects in the latest version, worked on with SISCAT professionals and managed by the Interoperability and Technologies area of the TIC Salut Social Foundation:

  • Creation or modification of 186 concepts.
  • Creation or modification of 1,130 descriptions.
  • Creation or modification of 14,327 concepts in the various subsets of the extension.
  • Creation or modification of 1,172 coded concept relationships. 
  • New subset added: male violence

All of these new terminological resources are already available to the SISCAT supplier organisations. They can also be transferred to the Department of Health’s crosscutting projects to assess the impact of their adoption.

  • This version has been reviewed by the SNOMED CT National Reference Centre in Spain to ensure it meets SNOMED International’s requirements.
