The InterSocial project expands the social terminological dictionary with 92 new concepts

In recent weeks, as part of the InterSocial project, a process to create and update new concepts in the social terminological dictionary has been completed. There is a total of 92 concepts from the field of male violence against the partner and/or ex-partner, family, or work or socio-community environment; also from the areas of digital, institutional, education or public and political life.

These concepts have been added to the existing set of concepts encoded in accordance with the SNOMED CT international standard that make up this terminological dictionary.

The TIC Salut Social Foundation, in collaboration with the Department of Social Rights, has been participating in this project since 2016. The aim is to create and progressively expand terminology to standardise of problems, factors and observations in the social field.

These common controlled vocabularies are intended improve the integration of social services data in Catalonia. This will facilitate the work carried out by social care professionals. The efficient exchange of information between the different social services information systems in Catalonia will thus be enhanced.

InterSocial can also count on the expertise of various professionals from social and health organisations, such as Barcelona County Council, Barcelona City Council, the Department of Health and other councils, departments and organisations in the social field.
