On 26 June the Fundació TIC Salut Social, in collaboration with the Ministry of Work, Social Affairs and Families and the Diputació de Barcelona, launched the second phase of the Intersocial Project. The event took place in Barcelona and involved more than fifteen professionals from the social and healthcare sectors.

The result of the first phase of the project, in 2016, were 131 problematics divided into 10 categories (labour, education, legal, environmental, etc.) and 35 answers in English, Catalan and Spanish.

The second phase is intended to build a common controlled vocabulary to standardize problems, factors and events in the field of social care with new use cases, beginning with childhood and mental health. Two groups of professionals from Catalonia are expected to participate in the project. The standard to be used will be the same as during the first phase, SNOMED CT.

The common controlled vocabularies are designed to improve the integration of data from Catalan social services, in order to facilitate the work of social care professionals.
