“Mataró-Maresme: innovation ecosystem for caring cities” aims to develop and implement innovative models and solutions in the territory that support active ageing and care for fragile, dependent, chronically ill or disabled people, through research processes, technological development and the generation and transfer of knowledge between the agents involved, as a basis for job creation and high added-value economic activities.

The project budget is €4,612,992.74 for an initial duration of two years, half of which is funded by the Government of Catalonia within the framework of the Catalonia ERDF 2014-20 OP. Territorial Competitiveness Specialization Projects are projects that contribute to the deployment of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization of Catalonia (RIS3CAT). They are initiatives implemented and promoted at the local level with a strong innovative component for the economic transformation of the territory and for the generation of sustainable economic activity and employment.
