Publication of the tender "Reduction of stress in patients undergoing hospital surgical treatment, throughout the healthcare process"

The STARS project “Empowering Patients by Professional Stress Avoidance and Recovery Services”, funded by the Horizon 2020 European Framework Program, will publish the tender on February 1, 2019.

The STARS project consortium invites the European industry to present proposals in a call for bids. The budget available for this innovative solution is 3.26 million euros (including VAT), the deadline for submitting proposals is 30 April 2019.

Stress reduction in elective surgery patients

Five major European hospitals have asked the European industry to design and develop a flexible support tool to be used by patients marginalized by surgery, with the aim of reducing stress during the entire process.

  • Education: Providing personalized information at all stages of the patient journey involving surgical intervention
  • Information: Providing timely information on what is expected of patients and caregivers at every stage
  • Self-evaluation: Transmitting the stress and pain suffered to the clinical team, in order that they can intervene
  • Communication: Allowing direct communication between patients and healthcare professionals during the treatment
  • Enabling autonomy: Creating a warm welcome and a friendly hospital environment
