On 6 October, the TIC Salut Social Foundation presented the mConnecta Platform project to the key managers and agents that make up the seven health regions of the Catalan Health Service to move towards the adherence of all the centres in Integrated Public Use Healthcare System of Catalonia (SISCAT) to mConnecta.

Commissioned by CatSalut and the Ministry of Health, mConnecta was created as an integrated platform connecting the workstations of health professionals which will enable mobile solutions to be offered to the public: web apps, mobile apps, wearables and medical devices. These solutions allow citizens to ensure their health status is kept up to date in the system in real time by sending data to the mConnecta Platform. This enables the pathology to be monitored by complementing the face-to-face care model with a non-face-to-face formula thanks to technology.

The mConnecta care process that is in the most advanced phase is the monitoring of Major Outpatient Surgery (MOS) of varicose veins which, with the approval of the Care Department of the Catalan Health Service, will be implemented in its first centres over the next few days.

The varicose vein MOS care process has been designed and agreed by a working group of industry professionals and approved as a non-face-to-face care model process. Meanwhile, mConnecta is working on the design and approval of other use cases such as diabetes.

If any SISCAT provider is interested in joining mConnecta or needs information about the project, they can send an email to the mConnecta Technical Office at otmconnecta@ticsalutsocial.cat.
