From 8 to 10 March, Madrid hosted the 19th edition of the INFORSALUD Congress 2016, which this year focused on Integral Healthcare: ICTs in coordination between the social and healthcare systems. This edition aimed to draw special attention to how the healthcare and social information of a citizen is integrated and their joint responsibility in their health in order to face current demands for improved attention and efficiency derived from the demographic evolution.
Fundació TicSalut presented the Clinical Dictionary for iHealth, a transversal project from the Health Department led by the Office of Standards and Interoperability and which is intended to standardise the controlled vocabulary used in SISCAT to exchange information between suppliers. Ariadna Rius, of the Office of Standards and Interoperability, was responsible for presenting the Clinical Dictionary and said that, “The final aim is to gather all relevant information on citizens to give support in taking decisions in the healthcare process.”
The Congress was also participated in by Dr. Òscar Solans, the person functionally responsible for the Shared Medical Record of Catalonia, who presented a project of health and social integration currently in a pilot phase in Barcelona and which is soon to be spread to the rest of the municipalities of Catalonia. The project is coordinated by the Health Department and the PIAISS (Interdepartmental Plan of Healthcare and Social and Health Interaction). Dr. Jordi Martínez, Director for Innovation of Fundació TicSalut took part in the round table ¿Acceso o integración de los datos sanitaros y sociales? (Access or integration of health and social data), in which he took the opportunity to explain the integration and accessibility which the Digital Health Platform will have as part of the Health App Portal and La Meva Salut (My Health). The development of ICT systems in support of comprehensive healthcare not only requires considering the technological but also the organisational aspects and especially the role of the human component, driving the central position of the patients.
In this 19th edition, INFORSALUD 2016 is consolidated another year as an essential meeting for all those interested in the Health ICT sector and its contribution to the healthcare transformation in improving the quality and efficiency of the healthcare systems.
