Map of Tendencies Survey

At this meeting, and as every year, Fundació TicSalut presented the results of the Map of Tendencies survey 2016, which aims to see the implementation and use of ICT amongst the providers of the Catalan Public Health System (SISCAT).

In this edition, 128 SISCAT entities took part in the survey and a reply index of 94% was achieved. The most important results of the last year particularly include the more than 10% increase in the use of mobility tools in the area of home care.

Precisely with reference to mobility, in the world there are around 200,000 health and social apps. In Catalonia, according to the APPS observatory and Fundació TicSalut mobility projects, around 60 of these applications are registered. The most outstanding provided geolocation of the centres, arrangement of appointments, waiting times in real-time and virtual visits.

As for the use of the Shared Medical Record in Catalonia, the study determines that now almost 100% of the public network use it and that rehabilitation and dialysis centres have recently started to connect to it. This will soon be complemented by the integration of data from the social services.

La Meva Salut (My Health), the multichannel digital area with which Health aims to make citizens feel more participative and responsible for the prevention and care of their health, continues to evolve and in 2016, the number of accesses tripled as more and more functions and services are offered. Particular attention must be drawn to the great reception of the eConsultation.

Telemedicine maintains the trend of recent years. The use of telediagnosis and teleconsultation now stands at around 70%, and telemonitoring is now on the threshold of 20%.

In order to improve health care practice, three large challenges are foreseen: to continue to evolve with the interconnection of institutions; to accompany patients in looking after their own health, and; to work on the digital transformation of the processes that care for people.

The results of the survey and the commemorative video are available on the  TicSalut vimeo channel.
