02. Description

m-RESIST  (Mobile Therapeutic Attention for Pacients with Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia) is a European project that developed a therapeutic procedure supported by mobile devices. Involving actively patients with resistant Schizophrenia treatment and their caregivers. Both patients and caregivers could manage the pathology themselves. m-RESIST implemented an analytic model in order to advance in the understanding of the resistant scizophrenia and predict behavioural issues of the illness. The m-RESIST solution has been tested in 3 pilots with real users carried out between Catalonia, Israel and Hungary.

Thanks to the analytical model developed to improve the understanding of treatment-resistant schizophrenia and to predict the behaviour of both the disease and the patient, the project makes it possible to establish a reaction alert system, as well as protocols and recommendations to support doctors in clinical decision-making. By linking data-mining tools with a high-level predictive model, m-RESIST opens up a new technical approach to healthcare treatments, enabling the analysis of behavioural patterns found across multiple patient variables and helping to identify treatment risks and shortcomings.
