Social Innovation Services for Care

The Department of Social Rights and Inclusion is launching the new Social Innovation Services for Care (SISCU) with the aim of promoting innovation and implementing new models and resources to improve the situation of people in a state of dependency and their families throughout their lives. SISCU also focuses on prevention in stages prior to dependency and/or functional diversity to anticipate future situations of need, enabling resource optimization.

The TIC Salut Social Foundation provides support and technical advice to the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, through the Secretariat of Social and Family Affairs, for the implementation and deployment of the SISCU project.

The agents involved in the innovation process include universities and research centers, service providers and technology companies, users and their representative organizations, vocational training centers, and the Administration itself.

Workstreams

To accelerate social innovation in the field of care, a network of services is established to expand the current SIRIUS Personal Autonomy Center. In this way, an ecosystem of innovation and improvement in the care and support of people with dependency needs is created, advancing sector productivity. This acceleration follows these lines of action:

  • Training: Specific training in accessibility and care for people in a state of dependency will be proposed for those providing care professionally or personally.
  • Network of Support Product Banks: Specialized services providing technical assistance products — on a temporary or permanent basis in a loan modality — to individuals in a state of dependency.
  • Physical Adaptations and Provision of Elements: Initial experience with the pilot robot ROBSIS to improve care for children and adolescents. This experience focuses on preventing behaviors such as bullying, cyberbullying, and understanding one’s own and others’ emotions.
  • Showroom: A showcase of solutions, exhibitions, and advisory services to identify advances in the industry and emerging companies (start-ups) in the fields of personal autonomy and energy efficiency, facilitated through:
    • Research laboratory
    • Residence of the future
    • House of the future
    • Home automation devices
    • Augmentative and alternative communication
