The Department of Health defines seven care innovation priorities to improve healthcare in Catalonia

The TIC Salut Social Foundation and the Adoption of Innovation in the Health System

The TIC Salut Social Foundation works on the technological assessment of innovative projects that can be implemented in the system to improve equitable access and the efficiency of the services provided. One example is the Digital Assets Certification Service for citizens. In collaboration with the Citizenship, Innovation and User Area of the Catalan Health Service, the Department of Health, and the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion, the Foundation promotes the use of digital assets (mobile applications, websites, and other digital solutions and services) in the field of health and well-being, bringing them closer to citizens.

The main commitment of this service is to support the use of health and well-being digital assets aimed at the public. The preliminary step involves reviewing their security, usability, and technological reliability according to international quality standards. This review process is pioneering in Europe, as it integrates standards recognized by the European Union, such as CEN ISO/TS 82304-2.

The results of the certification processes are made available to the system and to citizens through participatory sessions, such as the one taking place on Wednesday, November 12, organized jointly with the Secretariat for Healthcare and Participation and the Patients’ Advisory Council. Attendance is open to professionals and users of digital assets via the following form.

The results of this technological evaluation are integrated into INNOPASS, an initiative promoted by Biocat in collaboration with the TIC Salut Social Foundation, the Catalan Agency for Health Quality and Assessment (AQuAS), and the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut).
