The TIC Salut i Social Foundation and the Digital Health Validation Centre at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau have begun the process of reviewing the recommendations for the use of digital tools in remote consultations in SISCAT primary care, hospitals, community health, mental health and social centres. The project, commissioned by the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), will make it possible to update the current model and develop new guides to support professionals across the SISCAT in the use of these tools.
The TIC Salut i Social Foundation convened the first focus groups last week, made up of around twenty professionals from primary care, hospital care, social and healthcare services, mental health and the social sector, working in both metropolitan and rural areas. The contributions from the different working groups will support the review of the content of the information sheets produced in 2020, which included recommendations for professionals and centre management. These visual guides contained descriptions of remote care channels such as telephone support, eConsulta and videoConsulta, legal information regarding GDPR compliance, practical aspects for conducting remote consultations effectively, and organisational recommendations, among others.
Once the participatory working sessions are completed, a team of professionals from the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau will assess the materials produced and adapt them based on the contributions of the different profiles participating in the sessions. The recommendations are expected to be finalised and shared with professionals in early 2026.
The review of the remote care information sheets is one of the areas outlined in the recently signed collaboration agreement between the TIC Salut i Social Foundation and the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, aimed at promoting innovation in the use of ICT in the social and healthcare sectors, for the benefit of citizens and society.
The agreement also includes a project to validate digital health assets, which will make it possible to enhance and optimise the current framework for evaluating digital tools developed by the TIC Salut i Social Foundation, as pilot tests for prescribing the assessed digital assets may be carried out in SISCAT care centres.
