The AEPD will deliver the course “Innovation and Privacy in Artificial Intelligence and Data Spaces: Building a Model Compatible with People’s Rights” as part of the 2025 Summer Program at the Menéndez Pelayo International University in Santander.

The course will address compliance with the new AI Regulation, with particular focus on high-risk uses in areas related to data protection, as well as the impact of emerging technologies such as the processing of neurodata and automated decision-making. Additionally, there will be discussions on the effective implementation of Data Spaces and the reuse of data for research and economic development—key European Union initiatives aimed at enabling access to shared information under a secure and privacy-respecting governance model.

In this context, the role of data protection authorities such as the AEPD will be analyzed, alongside the needs of SMEs, startups, and privacy professionals, within a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape in the EU.

This course offers a unique opportunity to understand how to balance innovation, regulation, and rights in today’s digital ecosystem. Aimed at businesses, public administrations, data protection professionals, researchers, and anyone interested in the subject, it is essential for those seeking to lead digital transformation with confidence and guarantees.
