Precision medicine represents a paradigm shift in healthcare. It aims to enable more preventive care as well as more effective and safer diagnoses and treatments. It also facilitates the optimization of healthcare spending, promoting system sustainability.
To implement precision medicine, ICT plays a central role. Providing tools that facilitate the care process by incorporating bioinformatics tools ensures equity and sustainability in the healthcare system. Creating an ecosystem for research and innovation is the goal of the Health System Precision Medicine Platform (OMIQ-HES).
This platform, promoted by the Catalan Health System, has the technological support of Bioinformatics Barcelona (BIB), Genomcore, and Fujitsu.
