In an increasingly interconnected world, technology plays a key role in improving people’s quality of life, especially in the social sector. The new technological applications developed for this field aim to provide effective tools for healthcare, emotional well-being, and the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.
These programs, often based on artificial intelligence, mobile platforms, and digital tools, offer innovative solutions to challenges such as loneliness among the elderly, remote care for people with limited mobility, or access to community resources in disadvantaged areas. These initiatives represent a profound shift in how social services are provided, promoting personalized and accessible care from anywhere.
As these technologies continue to evolve, their impact on society promises to be even more transformative, opening new avenues for collaboration between health professionals, social workers, and technology developers to create a more cohesive and inclusive community.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce that this December, four new applications were published in the Health and Social Asset Directory within the Digital Assets for Citizenship area of the TIC Salut Social Foundation. This directory lists mobile applications for social and/or health and social purposes, which are recommended by social centers or identified in reference frameworks that assess their quality. These digital assets may include mobile apps, WebApps, or websites.
One of the primary functions of the Directory is to inventory the applications being used in Catalonia, classify them, and make them available to different basic areas and the public for use. Social workers, citizens, and center managers can search for mobile applications that best suit their needs. The search engine allows users to filter by the app’s classification area, target audience, and whether it has been certified by the TIC Salut Social Foundation.
New Social Applications Published in the Directory
Below is a brief description of the latest applications added to the directory. All applications aim to provide health benefits for the public.
The first three applications were developed in Catalonia by the iSocial Foundation and include a Digital Safe, a platform to store documentation in the cloud and maintain direct contact with social entities, along with various features that facilitate communication and user-professional accompaniment. Each of these applications has been downloaded by more than 100 users.
Additionally, we have included the Tic Salut – QuitNow application, developed by Fewlaps SL. If you are trying to quit smoking and are finding it hard, QuitNow helps you visualize yourself as a non-smoker, celebrating each achieved step. With a supportive community, health indicators, and WHO tips, quitting tobacco has never been easier.
