Call open for the 3rd ICT Grant in Mental Health, promoted by the TIC Salut Social Foundation and the Barbosa & Petit Foundation

Once again, the TIC Salut Social Foundation and the Barbosa & Petit Foundation are opening the call for the ICT Grant in Mental Health, now in its third edition. This initiative aims to promote research and innovation in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT) applied to mental health, highlighting emerging knowledge and its practical application for the benefit of citizens and the health system.

The call is aimed at students enrolled in official university master’s programmes and doctoral candidates who have submitted their Master’s Final Project (TFM) or Doctoral Research Plan during the 2025–2026 academic year.


Participation requirements

To be eligible for the grant, the work presented must be original and incorporate both a theoretical framework and a methodological plan. It can be presented in Catalan, Spanish, or English (with full translation). Only one candidacy per person and call is accepted, and works already submitted in previous editions cannot be submitted.

You must attach:

  • The full work (Master’s Final Project or Research Plan), with a budget included (if applicable)
  • A justification letter (maximum 500 words) explaining how the project contributes to mental health through the use of ICT
  • A signed letter from the project supervisor (for Master’s projects) or the thesis advisor (for Doctoral programs), stating the grade received or the recognition of the project’s merit

    Financial award and award ceremony

    • First prize: €1,500
    • Runner-up prize: €500

    The award ceremony will take place on 9 April 2026 at 6:00 p.m. at Ca l’Arenas Art Center, Mataró Museum, with the participation of institutional, academic, and ICT health sector representatives. The winner will give a brief presentation explaining how their research contributes to generating scientific evidence in this field.


    Evaluation criteria

    The evaluation committee will assess:

    • The proposal’s potential impact on mental health
    • Innovation in methods and processes
    • The use of scientific evidence and consideration of social, economic, and environmental impact
