The third COMFORTage Community Forum<\/a><\/strong> webinar dedicated to Service Delivery Models<\/strong> for dementia affected patients and their carers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This series of webinars explores how people living with dementia are currently supported and what short-term or medium-term opportunities – including the use of digital technologies – can be seized to improve the well-being of both themselves and their carers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the EU, dementia prevalence in people over 60 increased from 5.9 million in 2000 to about 9.1 million in 2018. However, behind the words \u201cdementia\u201d and \u201cfrailty\u201d, are very different clinical conditions. Furthermore, the personal and social environments play critical roles. Every person with dementia is unique and would thus require a personalised approach to his or her needs. Starting with the patients, we will explore the solutions proposed and viewpoints of all the main actors who can make a difference: social and healthcare professionals, industry, policymakers, and researchers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The key focus of the webinar will be to analyse how EU policymakers are currently looking at dementia and frailty<\/strong> considering all different levels of prevention.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from security, privacy and evidence, public authorities are often in an uncomfortable situation when dealing with digital technologies. Unlike medicines, digital products can indeed quickly become obsolete while the costing and reimbursement mechanisms to be implemented are still largely ad hoc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
