The Ministry of Health has presented the OMIQ-HES project, an innovative technological platform that enables the integration of clinical, genomic and healthcare data to facilitate the management and analysis of genetic data in a centralised manner. This tool promotes collaborative networking, improves medical decision-making and promotes biomedical research. At the same time, it guarantees the confidentiality and security of data, establishing a model of integrated and personalised care for patients with genetic diseases in Catalonia.<\/p>\n
This initiative, developed in collaboration with the technology companies Fujitsu, Genomcore and Microsoft, represents a step forward towards more preventive, effective and secure healthcare, while optimising healthcare spending to ensure the sustainability of the system. The application of advanced bioinformatics tools allows large volumes of clinical and genomic data to be integrated and processed in a secure, scalable and equitable manner.<\/p>\n
The presentation event, held in the Main Lecture Hall of the Casa de Convalesc\u00e8ncia in Barcelona, was co-organised with the collaboration of Bioinformatics Barcelona and the TIC Salut Social Foundation. It was attended by Alfredo Garcia, director of the Catalan Health Service; Ana Ripoll, president of Bioinformatic Barcelona (BIB); Josep Tabernero, president of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Precision Oncology Programme, and Josep Maria Borr\u00e0s, director of the Oncology Master Plan, among others.<\/p>\n
