The TIC Salut Social Foundation<\/b><\/span> has been honoured with the FiraGran Foundation Award 2025<\/b><\/span> in the Technology<\/i> category, this year dedicated to technology in favour of older people. The award recognises the Foundation\u2019s work in promoting digital solutions that improve people\u2019s well-being and health, enhance their autonomy, and contribute to a better quality of life for older people.<\/p>\n

The awards ceremony took place on October 16 at the Palau Macaya in Barcelona<\/b><\/span>, as part of the 24th edition of the FiraGran Foundation Awards<\/b><\/span>, and was presided over by Ra\u00fal Moreno<\/b><\/span>, Secretary General of the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Government of Catalonia.<\/p>\n

The award, collected by the Foundation\u2019s director<\/b><\/span>, highlights the organisation\u2019s track record and service in advancing the digital transformation of public health and social care systems. This ongoing effort aims to make these services more equitable and efficient, with technology as a key tool to ensure greater accessibility, security, and quality for both citizens and professionals\u2014particularly older people and vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n

Among the various projects focused on older adults in which the TIC Salut Social Foundation takes part, one that stands out is COMFORTAGE, <\/strong><\/a>an international alliance dedicated to transforming dementia and frailty care across Europe<\/strong>. The project aims to develop holistic and integrated health models tailored to the individual needs of people living with age-related mental and physical conditions. It is also creating an AI-driven virtual health platform designed to centralise resources for risk factor analysis, early diagnosis, and personalised decision-making.<\/p>\n

With this recognition, the TIC Salut Social Foundation reaffirms its commitment to an inclusive digital transformation<\/b><\/span> that places people at the centre and uses technology as an instrument to build a more accessible, humane, and sustainable social and healthcare system.<\/p>\n

Purpose of the FiraGran Foundation Awards<\/b><\/h2>\n

The <\/span>FiraGran Foundation Awards<\/b> aim to <\/span>recognise the achievements of active older adults<\/b> across different fields \u2014 cultural, sporting, professional, and social \u2014 as well as <\/span>organisations, activities, and initiatives that work to improve the lives of older people<\/b> and promote active ageing and participation in community life.<\/span><\/p>\n

The jury<\/b><\/span> of the awards is composed of the trustees of the FiraGran Foundation<\/b><\/span>. The final selection is made after consultation with the public administrations<\/b><\/span> that support the Foundation \u2014 the Government of Catalonia<\/b><\/span>, the Barcelona City Council<\/b><\/span>, and the Barcelona Provincial Council<\/b><\/span> \u2014 as well as dozens of senior organisations<\/b><\/span> and professional associations<\/b><\/span> representing thousands of older people and professionals in the sector.<\/p>\n

As highlighted by the jury members, this annual event <\/span>\u201creaffirms the FiraGran Foundation\u2019s commitment to the visibility, dignity, and participation of older adults in society.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Award categories and other recipients<\/b><\/h2>\n

In addition to the TIC Salut Social Foundation, this year\u2019s FiraGran Foundation Awards recognised outstanding individuals and organisations across various fields:<\/p>\n

    Joan Subirats<\/b><\/span>, former Minister of Universities, received the FiraGran Foundation Honorary Award 2025<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Ricard Gili<\/b><\/span>, jazz musician and composer, in the cultural category.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Elisabeth Justicia<\/b><\/span>, for her social awareness work through the character Dominga<\/i>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Josepa Soler i Erill<\/b><\/span>, former player and coach, in the sports category.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Maria Teresa Saperas<\/b><\/span>, entrepreneur, in the professional category.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The \u201cSentit de Viure\u201d<\/b><\/span> programme by R\u00e0dio 4<\/b><\/span>, recognised in the communication category.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The Xarxa de Soledats<\/b><\/span> network and its initiative \u201cLa Segarra Cuida\u201d<\/b><\/span>, for their collective social impact.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
