{"id":34105,"date":"2025-10-28T14:41:43","date_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ticsalutsocial.atoom.space\/noticia\/es-constitueix-el-comite-detica-de-recerca-en-medicina-regenerativa-de-catalunya-amb-participacio-de-loficina-del-dpd\/"},"modified":"2025-10-28T14:52:05","modified_gmt":"2025-10-28T12:52:05","slug":"es-constitueix-el-comite-detica-de-recerca-en-medicina-regenerativa-de-catalunya-amb-participacio-de-loficina-del-dpd","status":"publish","type":"noticia","link":"https:\/\/ticsalutsocial.atoom.space\/en\/noticia\/es-constitueix-el-comite-detica-de-recerca-en-medicina-regenerativa-de-catalunya-amb-participacio-de-loficina-del-dpd\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ethics Committee for Research in Regenerative Medicine of Catalonia is constituted with the participation of the Health DPO&#8217;s Office"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The <\/span><b>TIC Salut Social Foundation<\/b><span class=\"s1\"> has been appointed, through the <\/span><b>Office of the Health Data Protection Officer<\/b><span class=\"s1\">, as a member of the new <\/span><b>Ethics Committee for Research in Regenerative Medicine of Catalonia (CERMR)<\/b><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The committee\u2019s constitutive session took place on <span class=\"s2\"><b>Tuesday, October 22<\/b><\/span>, at the <span class=\"s2\"><b>Salvany Building<\/b><\/span> of the <span class=\"s2\"><b>Department of Health of the Government of Catalonia<\/b><\/span>, with the participation of representatives from institutions and research centers across the region. <span class=\"s2\"><b>M\u00edriam M\u00e9ndez<\/b><\/span> was the designated representative of the foundation, serving as the head of research and innovation at the Office of the Health Data Protection Officer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">The <span class=\"s2\"><b>CERMR<\/b><\/span> was created with the aim of <span class=\"s2\"><b>evaluating and issuing binding and mandatory reports<\/b><\/span> on research projects related to <span class=\"s2\"><b>regenerative medicine<\/b><\/span> carried out in Catalonia. It replaces the functions of the former <span class=\"s2\"><b>Center for Regenerative Medicine of Barcelona (CMRB)<\/b><\/span>, which was later integrated into <span class=\"s2\"><b>IDIBELL<\/b><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\">Among its responsibilities, the committee will review <span class=\"s2\"><b>research projects involving human embryonic stem cells<\/b><\/span>, pluripotent cell lines, and <span class=\"s2\"><b>tissues of embryonic or fetal origin<\/b><\/span> generated or used in Catalan institutions. In specific cases, projects will be submitted to the <span class=\"s2\"><b>Commission on Guarantees for the Donation and Use of Human Cells and Tissues<\/b><\/span> for review.<\/p>\n<h4><b>A new body to ensure ethics in biomedical research<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p3\">The <span class=\"s2\"><b>Office of the Health Data Protection Officer<\/b><\/span> contributes its <span class=\"s2\"><b>expertise in data protection<\/b><\/span>.
