On January 24th , the Department de Salut<\/em>\u00a0[Catalan Healthcare Ministry] presented a\u00a0new technological solution to release from paperwork healthcare professionals’<\/a>. A new Electronic Healthcare Record (HES) it’s been designed in order to agglutinate the clinical and data information from any person enhancing a better time management in terms of efficency. 40M\u20ac have been invested to that purpose and it will be deployed during the following 4 years.<\/p>\n

Pol P\u00e9rez, ICT General Coordinator from the Departament de Salut<\/em>\u00a0explained\u00a0that the project focuses on a digital and hollistic healthcare strategy in Catalonia fostering the transformation of the public system. \u201cHES will become the functional and technical citizen’s database regarding the most necessary and important information needed to perform healthcare services, acting as a digital transformation trigger for the Catalan Healthcarfe System.\u201d<\/p>\n

“This technological innovation will directly impact on a short term activities but also in our future Healthcare System”.<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

P\u00e9rez insisted on the possibility that \u201cprofessionals will be able to use a system of homogeneous and unified information from different tech tools, databases (there are currently 22) and practical guides to achieve a more coordinated work\u201d. In addition, “this technological innovation will directly impact on a short term activities but also in our future Healthcare System”.<\/p>\n

The integration difficulties of these equipments, an obsolete software that incompatibilized or hampered the coexistence with new operating systems and the antiquity of the present systems (ECAP and HC3 created by the end of the 90s), have been some of the main problems faced. \u00d2scar Solans, eHealth Functional Manager at Departament de Salut<\/em> told that \u201cthe tool will show to the professional common information of remarkable importance when needed, in real time. More quality, easier and faster to be uploaded, checked and analyzed”.<\/p>\n

“This solution will fit the professional’s daily tasks”<\/h3>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Solans explains\u00a0that HES will show the information according to the pathology of the patient: (a) the professional when entering into IT system will access to the clinical situation of the specific patient; According to the role of the professional (b) different kind of information will be shown wheter if you are a doctor, a nurse or a physiotherapist. Finally, \u201cthis solution will fit the professional’s daily tasks”.<\/p>\n

Finally, Communications and CSR of the Servei Catal\u00e0 de la Salut<\/em>\u00a0[Catalan Healthcare Service] has shared a HES decalogue to summarize the achievements.<\/p>\n

  2. More communitcations’ speed a (Sire, HC3, diagnostics seeking diagnostics, etc).<\/li>\n
  3. Less clicks, added and suitable information according to professional profile and patient typology.<\/li>\n
  4. Support tools for clinical decisions powered by algorithms.<\/li>\n
  5. Data integration enabling the increase of speed at searches.<\/li>\n
  6. Better follow-up attention across assistance levels to obtain all the information.<\/li>\n
  7. Structured information enabling a better follow-up of the processes, comparative of data analytics, scales.<\/li>\n
  8. More information security according to the GDPR.<\/li>\n
  9. Improvent of the non presential assistance at telemedicine across professionals and patients.<\/li>\n
  10.
