In order to deal with this situation, new Non-Face-to-Face Care channels are being incorporated to support outpatient professionals in hospitals, community health and mental health centres. This article contains recommendations for the use of Non-Face-to-Face Care channels, to identify situations where it is advisable to offer this type of care. It also offers practical advice about the available tools: <strong>telephone support, eConsulta (secure messaging) and videoConsulta (online and video consultation).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The work draws on the recommendations of professionals from different SISCAT centres, within a project co-led by the <strong>TIC Salut i Social Foundation<\/strong> (LATITUD project), the <strong>CatSalut Care Department<\/strong> and the <strong>eHealth Office<\/strong>. The content therefore includes recommendations depending on the situation of each centre. These recommendations have been grouped into two blocks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ticsalutsocial.atoom.space\/en\/en-01_recull_fitxes_atencionopresencialae_professional_00\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Recommendations aimed at professionals<\/strong><\/a>: indicating at which point in the care process these channels should be used, examples of types of visits, criteria to be taken into account, description of the channels available, legal aspects and code of conduct and best practices.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/ticsalutsocial.atoom.space\/en\/en-02_recull_fitxes_atencionopresencialae_organitzacio_00\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Recommendations aimed at the management teams of the centres<\/strong><\/a>: with organizational recommendations for the use of the available channels, as well as legal aspects and good practices<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-24192 \" src=\"https:\/\/ticsalutsocial.atoom.space\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/fitxes_3-700x490-1.jpg\" alt=\"Vista pr\u00e8vies de les fitxes\" width=\"593\" height=\"415\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Non-Face-to-Face Care in Catalonia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In a very short period of time, the Catalan healthcare system has reinforced the use of non-face-to-face care tools.For example, the use of <strong>eConsulta (secure asynchronous messaging)<\/strong> has been promoted, giving access to the entire population through the <a href=\"https:\/\/lamevasalut.gencat.cat\/web\/cps\/welcome\"><strong>La Meva Salut<\/strong><\/a> personal health folder.Meanwhile, access has been given to healthcare professionals so that they can work remotely, and a <strong>videoconferencing system<\/strong> has been set up.The increased use of teleconsultations has been significant, as can be seen in the article <a href=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jmir.org\/2020\/2\/e19106\/\">\u201cTurning the Crisis Into an Opportunity: Digital Health Strategies Deployed During the COVID-19 Outbreak\u201d <\/a>published in JMIR Public Health and Surveillance 2020; 6 (2): e19106.The following image shows an example of this transformation:<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 331px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jmir.org\/api\/download?filename=f1ca69f138c857b73dfb6930fdce9dac.png&amp;alt_name=19106-364888-1-PB.png\" rel=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jmir.org\/2020\/2\/e19106\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" title=\"Visites a atenci\u00f3 prim\u00e0ria per tipologia de visites en el\u00a0per\u00edode 1 de Mar\u00e7 a 19 d'Abril de 2020\" src=\"https:\/\/publichealth.jmir.org\/api\/download?filename=f1ca69f138c857b73dfb6930fdce9dac.png&amp;alt_name=19106-364888-1-PB.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"321\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Visits to primary care by type of visits in the period from 1 March to 19 April 2020<\/p><\/div>\n<blockquote><p><strong>The Care Department and the Information Systems Department of the Catalan Health Service <\/strong>and the <strong>TIC Salut i Social Foundation<\/strong> have identified a need to provide recommendations to SISCAT providers on the use of the available non-face-to-face care channels. Therefore, through the use of working groups involving the participation of healthcare professionals from various public hospitals in our public health system, the following pamphlets have been prepared.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Recommendations for the use of Non-Face-to-Face Care channels<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The use of Non-Face-to-Face Care channels must allow for a personalized care adapted to the situation of the member of the public and the health resources available. The aim of these pamphlets is to facilitate the use of these channels by providing a set of recommendations. Therefore, to make it easier to read, the information has been summarized in pamphlets aimed at both professionals and the management teams of the centres. The content of the pamphlets has been divided into two groups: content for healthcare professionals and content for the management teams of the centres.
