3D printing is progressively transforming the healthcare sector, opening up new opportunities to improve healthcare, personalize treatments and optimize clinical processes.

This conference will present the results of a study promoted at SISCAT on the use of 3D printed splints for the immobilization of distal radius fractures, an initiative aimed at evaluating the potential of this technology in routine clinical practice. The project has been coordinated by the TIC Salut i Social Foundation, with the support of the CTTI as economic promoter. The Hospital d’Olot i Comarcal de la Garrotxa has led the definition of the study and has acted as a pilot center, together with the Hospital Comarcal de la Selva – Hospital de Blanes and the Hospital de Campdevànol – Hospital Comarcal del Ripollès. The Health Innovation Network of the Girona Regions has facilitated the development of the multi-center study, while Minsait and BOED have participated as technological partners.

The session will also include a round table with different experiences of implementing 3D printing in healthcare centers in the Catalan healthcare system, where integration models, learnings and challenges linked to this emerging technology will be shared.

The conference is aimed at healthcare professionals, innovation teams, those responsible for digital transformation, healthcare management and people interested in the application of advanced technologies in healthcare.
